My wife and I are going to be filing jointly. We are considering moving out of state and are running the numbers to see if it would work. In order to survive with our current level of debt, we would need to earn $50k per year. Including Social security and medicare around how much in taxes would we pay per year out of that?

hww22 asked: I know on a paycheak the federal, state, medicare, and social security is already taken out and at the end of the year I only figure my federal and state on my 1040. Do I pay any ss or mc on an annuity? I know its a hard question but try if you think you know.

Al asked: As an international graduate student (F1 visa) receiving a research assistantship, I realized that no medicare or social security taxes were deducted from my W-2, and I think I am exempted.
My summer employer deducted these and asked me to check if I am exempted or not. Should I just assume that I am exempted from paying these because of my previous W-2?
Thanks for the help.

taalyn_1 asked: I am taking a new position at a non-profit organization. This company is offering a 403(b) retirement plan and I am wondering if I should take it or not. They will pay 75% after 1 year and I can make contributions, before taxes, of up to 10% and I can be fully vested after 3 years of employment . What is the difference between this and a 401K or other retirement programs really?
