For instance- if an agressive dog attacks another that has benificial evolutionary traits of the species, the ability of the dog to defend itself against and supress the disadvantageous behavior of the attacking dog is necessary to sustain its positive traits. I think that both psychology and physicality play a role here, you might disagree…

A real fight is far too costly to both parties because even victory can result in life threatening injuries. Read the previous post about “fights” and their is plenty of research on this subject.
